Study on the modeling and simulation of a grid-connected battery energy storage system based on cascaded h-bridge converter

چکیده

Battery energy storage system (BESS) is evolving to be a major part of the modern power systems due high controllability and simple implementation. In this paper, general structure BESS its components are reviewed focusing mainly on battery unit in hierarchal order from cell pack terms modeling, design, wiring. The effect weakest cell-to-cell variations also mentioned perspective charging their effects wiring topology. Moreover, cascaded h-bridge (CHB) converter topology discussed compared with other electronic interfaces capacity switching elements. It shown that CHB can utilized minimize number series connected batteries. Finally, 1 MWh 34.5 kV grid-connected based designed simulated test capabilities supply active grid under closed-loop control.
